Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) for a full-time school-based opportunity in Vallejo, California supporting elementary school students for the 2026-2027 school year.

Job Responsibilities

The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) assists the Speech Language Pathologist in providing speech and language services to students. Responsibilities include:

  • Implementing treatment plans developed by the supervising SLP
  • Assisting with speech and language therapy services
  • Supporting student communication goals
  • Completing required documentation and treatment-related activities
  • Maintaining compliance with school, state, and professional standards
  • Collaborating with educators, families, and therapy teams
Minimum Requirements
  • Graduate of an SLPA program with an Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
  • Completion of at least 100 hours of supervised fieldwork or equivalent clinical experience
  • Current California SLPA license/certification
  • One year of SLPA experience preferred
  • Current health clearance and TB screening as required
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant assists the Speech Language Pathologist in providing speech and language services.  The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant will have clinical, educational, documentation, and treatment related activities while working within the scope of responsibilities/ plan of care assigned by the Speech Language Pathologist and/or physician. 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Must be a graduate of a SLPA program with an associate’s degree, or have a bachelor’s degree in a speech-language pathology or communication disorders program 
  • Successful completion of a minimum of 100 hours of supervised field work experience or its clinical experience equivalent as required by state and/or contract
  • Current certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in the State of Practice 
  • Complies with all relevant  professional standards of  practice 
  • One (1) year of prior professional Speech-Language Pathology Assistant experience preferred
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice 
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
