Job description

Title Searcher
First Title amp; Escrow is seeking a remote Title Searcher! The successful candidate will need to be able to work independently and thrive in a remote setting and being able to communicate within your teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Searching the public record and historic data and abstracting information is essential to determining land titles and encumbrances, restrictions, and covenants.
  • Must understand basic real estate terminology and legal documents.
  • Gathering and documenting the chain of title for parcels of land.
  • Preparing various types of title reports.
  • Examine documentation such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, plat books, maps, contracts, and agreements to verify factors such as properties' legal descriptions, ownership, or restrictions.
  • Confer with realtors, lending institution personnel, buyers, sellers, contractors, surveyors, attorneys, and courthouse personnel in order to exchange title-related information or to resolve problems.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Reliable and detail oriented.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with land documents and land title is preferred.
  • Responsible for researching property records and preparing documents and information for real estate transactions.
  • Provide a high level of customer service, including the building of strong relationships with our customers and colleagues.
  • Experience in the real estate, title, or banking fields a plus, but not required.
