Your day as a Licensed Practical Nurse

At the Hampton - Newport News Community Services Board, as a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will play a vital role in our Adult Comprehensive Outpatient Services program. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including licensed therapists, psychologists, and nurse practitioners, you will assist the staff psychiatrist in medication management, conduct health assessments, and provide essential nursing support to our clients. what you need to be successful

To excel in the role of a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Adult Comprehensive Outpatient Services program at the Hampton - Newport News Community Services Board, candidates must possess specific qualifications and essential skills.

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Virginia State Board of Nursing
  • One (1) year of experience in medication administration in a substance abuse treatment, psychiatric setting, or long-term care facility including the dispensing of narcotic medication.

Additionally, candidates excel with having proficiency in conducting health assessments, medication management, and providing supportive counseling.
