Job description

ROOT//SOURCE is seeking a Telecommunications Technician to analyze complex local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, and configuring operating systems and protocol suites for virtualized and containerized systems
Clearance: TS/SCI clearance with FS polygraph is required.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze complex local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, and configuring operating systems and protocol suites for virtualized and containerized systems
  • Resolve difficult interoperability problems to obtain operation across host, hypervisor, and guest nodes
  • Load and configure cloud servers and vendor (e.g., Cisco, Juniper) or white box routers and switches
  • Support the acquisition of hardware and software and subcontractor services
  • Act as a technical project leader or provide work leadership to junior employees, as needed

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience with providing technical support for the engineering and testing of complex software and hardware systems in the communication field
  • Experience with network planning for telecommunications switches
  • Experience with conducting integration and system level testing of telecommunications systems or platforms
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience with Cisco, Juniper or equivalent networking equipment
  • Experience with VMWare, QEMU, KVM, or Docker
  • Experience with Linux or OpenStack
  • Knowledge of telephony and telecommunication
  • Knowledge of networking services
  • Knowledge of software defined networking
  • Cisco CCNA or equivalent preferred
  • RHCSA preferred
  • HS diploma or GED

Compensation:
The annualized salary range for this position based on full time employment is $125,000-$200,000.
