Job Summary:

The Director of IT Network & Telecommunications plays a critical role in overseeing the strategic and operational management of the organization's network and telecommunications infrastructure. This position is responsible for leading both the network and telecom teams, which includes managing network infrastructure (Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, wireless, etc.), telecommunications systems (Cisco Call Manager, UCCE, Vocera, paging), and ensuring that all systems are designed, implemented, and maintained to meet the demands of a healthcare environment. The director ensures seamless integration of network and telecom solutions, particularly during mergers and acquisitions, and optimizes cloud services to support the organization's long-term goals. This role emphasizes high availability, security, integration of communications technologies with clinical workflows to enhance patient care, and operational efficiency.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

10 years or more experience in the in the network and telecom field working with Cisco enterprise technology including five (5) or more years of senior manager/director level experience is required.

Experience leading teams through mergers and acquisitions, including the integration of network and telecommunications systems with minimal operational disruption is required.

Experience working with cloud strategies and hybrid cloud models, especially in the context of integrating network and telecom services is required.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

Experience with healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA, HITRUST) and experience ensuring network and telecom systems meet these standards is preferred.

Experience managing Cisco network technologies and Cisco Call Manager, UCCE, nurse call system and related telecom systems in a healthcare environment is preferred.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer or Information Science or ten years relevant business and technical experience is required.

Master's Degree is preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:

Strong leadership skills managing cross-functional teams and fostering collaboration between network and telecom groups.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information for non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.

Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, especially in high-pressure, mission-critical environments.
Experience with disaster recovery planning, high availability design, and ensuring business continuity for both network and telecom services.
Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects, budgets, and vendor relationships, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Strong understanding of security best practices for both network and telecom infrastructure, with experience mitigating cyber threats in a healthcare environment.
