Full Time Tech Recruiter information

What is a full time tech recruiter?

Full Time Tech Recruiters are professionals who specialize in finding, screening, and hiring qualified candidates for technical positions within a company. They work closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, craft job descriptions, source candidates through various channels, and manage the interview process. Their goal is to ensure that the organization attracts and hires skilled tech talent efficiently. Additionally, full-time tech recruiters may handle onboarding and retention strategies to support company growth.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a full time tech recruiter?

To thrive as a Full Time Tech Recruiter, you need a solid understanding of technical roles, sourcing strategies, and recruitment best practices, often supported by a degree in human resources or a related field. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), sourcing platforms like LinkedIn Recruiter, and, in some cases, certifications such as AIRS or SHRM-CP is typical. Strong interpersonal skills, active listening, and adaptability make recruiters stand out by building trust with both candidates and hiring managers. These skills and tools are crucial for effectively identifying, engaging, and securing top tech talent in a competitive job market.

What are some common challenges faced by full time tech recruiters and how can they be addressed?

Full-time tech recruiters often face challenges such as sourcing candidates with niche technical skills, keeping up with rapidly changing technology trends, and managing multiple requisitions with tight deadlines. To address these challenges, recruiters can build strong talent pipelines, leverage advanced sourcing tools and platforms, and continuously update their knowledge of the tech industry. Collaborating closely with hiring managers and technical teams also helps recruiters better understand role requirements and streamline the hiring process.

What is the difference between Full Time Tech Recruiter vs Technical Sourcer?

AspectFull Time Tech RecruiterTechnical Sourcer
ResponsibilitiesEnd-to-end hiring, candidate management, interview coordinationCandidate sourcing, initial screening, talent research
Required SkillsRecruitment strategies, communication, negotiationSourcing techniques, market research, candidate outreach
Work EnvironmentHR/recruitment teams within tech companies or staffing agenciesTalent acquisition teams, often within larger HR departments
Common UsageHiring full-time technical staff, managing recruitment pipelinesBuilding talent pools, identifying passive candidates

While both roles focus on talent acquisition in the tech industry, a Full Time Tech Recruiter manages the entire hiring process, including interviews and negotiations. In contrast, a Technical Sourcer primarily focuses on sourcing and identifying potential candidates, often supporting recruiters with candidate pipelines.

Job description

Workday Functional Consultant / Project Lead (1-Year Contract)

We’re seeking an experienced Workday Functional Consultant / Project Lead to support major HR technology initiatives, complex project delivery, and system optimizations on a 1-year contract. Operating fully remotely (working MST hours), this consultant will lead and execute critical Workday configuration initiatives—including new legal entity setups, organizational restructures, union maintenance, business process enhancements, and M&A activities.
This contract requires a incorporated professional who can act as a trusted advisor, bridging functional design with hands-on execution across HR, Payroll, Finance, and Digital teams.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Lead functional design, end-to-end configuration, testing, cutover, and deployment for Workday projects, including legal entity setups, union/collective agreement maintenance, and supervisory org changes.
  • Gather and translate complex business requirements into scalable Workday solutions, conducting fit-gap analyses aligned with leading practices.
  • Provide high-tier HRIS sustainment and production support, troubleshooting complex system issues and resolving root causes.
  • Evaluate Workday release features, execute regression testing, and maintain system stability, security, and data integrity.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities to streamline business processes, reduce manual work, and establish governance standards.
  • Facilitate requirements-gathering workshops and maintain clear communication on project status, risks, and dependencies with key business stakeholders.
Your Strengths Include:
  • 5+ years of hands-on Workday functional configuration experience across Core HCM and related modules (Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence, Compensation, Recruiting, Benefits, or Security).
  • Proven track record leading Workday projects from initial design through post-production hypercare.
  • Demonstrated experience configuring Workday for unionized workforces, legal entity additions, restructures, or M&A activities.
  • Deep understanding of Workday business processes, security architecture, data structures, and custom reporting.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting, testing management, and process documentation capabilities.
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills with the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Contract Requirements: Candidates must be incorporated and available to work full-time hours aligned with Mountain Standard Time (MST).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience within energy, utilities, manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Active or previous Workday certifications; specialized hands-on experience in Workday Canadian Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence.
  • Experience collaborating with third-party implementation partners and cross-functional technology vendors.
