Medical Receptionist / Front Desk
Salary Range
$18.00 minimum
Job Summary

Executive Plastic Surgery is a high-volume plastic surgery practice in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Patient safety, accuracy, professionalism, and accountability are central to everything we do. We work closely with Landmark Surgery Center, located above our office, to coordinate surgical care. Our front desk and administrative team plays a critical role in the daily operations of the practice.

Position Overview

This is not an entry-level position. We are seeking a highly dependable, detail-oriented professional who can independently manage front desk and administrative responsibilities, resolve issues in real time, and exercise sound judgment. This role requires ownership, initiative, and the ability to function accurately in a fast-paced medical environment without micromanagement.

The ideal candidate is reliable, forward-thinking, and able to handle problems independently while multitasking, escalating to higher supervision only when an issue cannot be resolved.

General Accountabilities

Key Responsibilities (Including, but Not Limited To):

Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, ensuring a professional, calm, and compassionate experience
Independently manage front desk operations, addressing and resolving issues promptly and appropriately
Escalate matters to higher supervision only when unable to resolve independently
Patient check-in/check-out, appointment scheduling, and calendar management
Surgery scheduling and coordination with internal and external teams
Accurate medical records management, including chart review, updates, and compliance
Charge entry with strict attention to accuracy and timeliness
Collect, post, and reconcile payments
Professional handling of email communication with patients, staff, and external partners
Answer, triage, and respond to phone calls and inquiries effectively
Maintain organized digital and physical documentation
Proactively identify potential issues and address them before they impact patient care or operations
Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and office protocols
Work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining professionalism
Contribute to a respectful, drama-free workplace; gossip and unprofessional behavior are not tolerated
Adapt to changing priorities and take on additional responsibilities as practice needs evolve

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of medical office experience REQUIRED
(Plastic Surgery experience strongly preferred)

Ability to consistently work a full-time 40-hour work week
Proven reliability with excellent attendance and punctuality
Strong attention to detail with a habit of double checking work
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with minimal errors
Works effectively both independently and in a team environment, using sound judgment and clear communication
Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
Professional verbal and written communication skills
High level of honesty, discretion, accountability, and trustworthiness
Compassionate, empathetic, and patient-focused
Technical Skills

Experience with Kareo/Tebra or similar EMR systems
Proficiency in Google Workspace, including Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Gmail
Comfortable working within shared documents and collaborative digital workflows
Availability & Hiring Requirements

Must be able to interview within 1–3 days of initial contact
Must be available to start immediately
