Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Residential Director, the Training Coordinator and Crisis Prevention Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with training requirements across the campus. This role ensures that all staff receive the necessary training both through formal sessions and on-the-job training within units. Additionally, the Training Coordinator oversees the Crisis Prevention Specialists (CPS) team. EVENING AND WEEKENDS POSITION ONLY.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assess organizational training needs in collaboration with leadership.
  • Conduct onboarding and policy/procedure training for new hires.
  • Coordinate training schedules, monitor employee progress, and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain accurate training records and documentation.
  • Supervise and manage the Crisis Prevention Services (CPS) team, including scheduling and daily oversight.
  • Support audit readiness and compliance with training and crisis prevention requirements.
  • Provide crisis intervention and promote a safe environment for youth and staff.
  • Track and document crisis interventions and CPS activities.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership and treatment team members regarding crisis prevention needs.
  • Participate in staff meetings and collaborate on treatment and prevention strategies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A minimum of five (5) years of full-time verifiable professional experience in social work, crisis intervention, or the mental health field, particularly with indigent populations or in a related capacity.
  • High school Diploma/GED or higher.
  • NY/NJ/CT Driver's License is required.
  • Demonstrate specialized training/expertise in the area of trauma informed care and crisis prevention techniques.
  • Experience in tracking, scheduling, and training staff
  • Acceptable clearance checks for State Central Register, Driver license and fingerprinting as required by the program.
  • This position requires successful completion of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training, which includes a written test and demonstration of the competency to perform physical restraints, as specified by the program and regulatory body. Additionally, staff must successfully complete all required TCI refreshers in order to maintain continued employment.
