Job description

Child Care Worker

Overview


The Child Care Worker ensures the basic needs, health, and safety of residents are met and supports youth through a nurturing environment during their placement.


Key Responsibility

Maintain Health and Safety of Residents

  • Provide active supervision of youth at all times, both on-site and in the community.
  • Utilize TCI behavior management and crisis intervention techniques using a trauma-informed approach.
  • Complete timely incident reports, Life Space Interviews, and other required documentation.
  • Coordinate with clinical and medical staff to address youth needs and concerns.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free living environment.
  • Ensure security and safety throughout the facility and grounds.


Program Delivery

  • Assist youth with daily living skills, including self-care, chores, and personal responsibility.
  • Facilitate recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities that support youth development.
  • Consistently implement PBIS practices and model ROAR values: Respect, On-task, Act Safely, and Be Responsible.
  • Support youth through personal challenges and communicate significant concerns to appropriate staff.


Professional Practice

  • Maintain professional standards by adhering to attendance, dress code, confidentiality, and agency policies.
  • Collaborate with treatment teams, attend required trainings, responsibly manage agency resources, and support the mission of Rising Ground.


Physical Demands

  • Successfully complete and maintain the physical requirements of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid NY State Driver’s License with a safe driving record as per DMV standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with adolescents in a Residential Treatment Center setting.

This is a full-time position. Shifts are 8:00am-4:00pm, 4:00pm-12:00am, 12:00am-8:00am
