Background
This opportunity is part of a high-impact defense program originally developed for the U.S. Army and now supporting the United States Space Force (USSF). The system receives and processes direct downlinked data from advanced infrared satellite sensors, such as the Defense Support Program (DSP) and Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS), to deliver near-real-time missile warning, alerting, and tactical event data across military communication networks. As part of the program team, you will contribute to mission-critical operations that safeguard national interests and provide strategic defense capabilities.
Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and improve CM plans, policies, and procedures
  • Oversee configuration identification, control, auditing, status accounting, and verification processes
  • Coordinate engineering change activities and baseline control across departments
  • Conduct formal configuration audits and support resolution of discrepancies
  • Manage CM tools and databases, ensuring data integrity and compliance
  • Lead Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and Engineering Change Boards (ECBs)
  • Train and mentor junior CM analysts
  • Provide expert CM guidance and interface with engineering, quality, and project management teams
  • Generate reports and briefings for leadership on configuration activities and compliance status

  5. Familiarity with project/task management platforms such as Jira and Confluence
  6. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly documentation
  7. Excellent communication and presentation skills
  8. U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools such as Teamcenter, Windchill, Enovia, or Costpoint
  • Familiarity with configuration standards (e.g., MIL-HDBK-61A, EIA-649B/649-1)
  • Knowledge of quality standards such as AS9100 and ISO9001
  • Exposure to specialty engineering tools and environments, such as MATLAB, Python, Cypress, or Cadence

Education
Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
Work Location & Hours
  • Location: On-site in Colorado Springs, CO
  • Work Hours: Full-time, standard business hours with occasional after-hours support for mission-critical operations
