Job description

Tamarack Foods is looking to hire a full-time Maintenance Technician for second shift. Would you like to work for a food manufacturing company with a great reputation and a family-like environment? Are you a self-starter who hates being chained to a desk all day? If so, please read on!

SECOND SHIFT WILL BE APPROXIMATELY 3PM-11PM.

General Responsibilities:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the production equipment and physical plant facilities. This position requires knowledge of production equipment, plant facilities, and maintenance practices. Coordinates assigned work with others in the execution of maintenance tasks and procedures.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance repair and preventive maintenance tasks as necessary and assigned to insure equipment and facilities are properly maintained and perform as designed
  • Perform record-keeping documentation on maintenance forms, logs, and Work Orders as necessary
  • Communicate with Production, Quality, and Sanitation personnel involving maintenance activity or corrective action.
  • Ensure that departmental maintenance work is performed in a safe and workmanship manner according to company policies and procedures
  • Monitor production equipment for proper operation, performance, and food safety compliance. Notify the production lead of abnormal conditions requiring immediate attention including shutdown of equipment as required for food safety, quality, personnel safety, or equipment safety issues
  • Able to work overtime and weekend hours required
  • Follow quality, production, and safety policies
  • Must able to stand on concrete for up to 8 hours, bend, stoop and able to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Perform other duties as required

Background/Experience:

Prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Prior experience in Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) system or wastewater treatment system a plus. Prior food processing experience is desirable. Trade school level training in a maintenance discipline or equivalent. Familiarity with production equipment, plant facilities, and maintenance activities. Detail orientated and team player with a positive attitude. High School degree or equivalent.

The site and building have been fully renovated to produce battered and-fried protein products under the inspection of the USDA. Tamarack Foods is a family-owned business and will be a sister company to B and D Foods in Boise, Idaho and DayLee Foods in Molette, California.
