Description
The primary purpose of the position is to provide system and policy training for eligibility staff to improve effectiveness, improve productivity, and help staff become a motivated, skilled and effective workforce through which organizational goals are achieved.
Work includes providing training for new and transitional employees. Employee plans, organizes, and conducts a program of in-service training for county social services staff with a specific focus on using the NC Families Accessing Services through Technology (NCFAST) system. Employee's work involves performing as a troubleshooter and they must be proficient in the analysis of program-wide problem areas which include recommendations for corrective action. Work is characterized by a high level of program, procedural, and NC FAST System knowledge required to work effectively in any line staff position, which includes all eligibility programs and all functions. Employee is required to explain information regarding a client's status in complex eligibility determination cases to lower level staff. Employee functions as an authorized county point-of-contact with the State NC FAST Help Desk support function.
Employee will build staff knowledge and skills through use of a multifaceted approach to training delivery viewing training as an inter-related sequence of activities that builds knowledge and proficiency. Approach includes system demonstrations, ongoing communications, web-based training, classroom training, and online support resources and materials, such as but not limited to the NC FAST Learning Gateway. The training approach will provide ample opportunity for eligibility staff to get hands-on experience and learn system operation on-the-job.
Employee will also be responsible for overseeing the NC FAST Worker Certification Program to include worker set up and guidance as well as the running of reports and the sharing of data and staff progress with supervisors and Program Administrators.
Regular attendance and punctuality are essential. The Income Maintenance System Trainer must be available to the staff during established hours to train eligibility staff to improve effectiveness, improve productivity, and help staff become a motivated, skilled and effective workforce through which organizational goals are achieved.
Work includes performing other related duties as assigned.
Recruitment Standards: Two years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
