The Commerce Applications team is looking for a Senior Systems Analyst to work with a custom Java-based web application team to gather requirements, analyze needs, and propose solutions to meet business needs. Applications and services in this portfolio provide internal users, third-party business partners, and customers the ability to create quotes and place orders for products and services offered by MathWorks Inc.

Responsibilities
  • Work with business stakeholders, product owner(s), and Agile development teams to deliver solutions to meet business needs
  • Analyze and document business requirements and workflows
  • Leverage data and analytics to vet needs, analyze trends, and monitor key KPIs
  • Collaborate with the development team, user experience experts, and quality engineers on system design
  • Lead the creation of user stories, breaking down epics and larger stories as needed
  • Build strong and trusting relationships with peers and business stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or equivalent experience) is required.
  • Candidates for this position must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without restriction.
  • Visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

Additional Qualifications
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to elicit business requirements and translate them into practical and clear user stories
  • Able to communicate and present complex ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Can perform cross-functional impact analysis, proactively reaching across team boundaries to communicate and collaborate when adjacent teams will be affected
  • Can identify and analyze downstream and reporting impact of system changes
  • Understands relational database design and can read/write SQL
  • Proactive and curious nature, an independent self-starter
  • Experience with Agile methods and Scrum
  • Experience with custom-built web applications

Plusses:
  • Familiarity with CPQ applications
  • Experience as a developer or business systems analyst for custom web applications built using Java or similar programming language
  • Experience with tools such as Microsoft Power BI for data analysis and reporting
