Job description

Founding Dentist / Practice Partner – Family & General Dentistry (Medicaid-Focused Startup)
Location: Southwest Houston in a Medical Plaza next to a Medical Clinic and Eye Care Practice.
Position Type: Full-Time | Startup Leadership Role | Partnership / Ownership Track

We are seeking a motivated, entrepreneurial-minded Dentist to become the Founding Dentist for a new family and general dental practice launching in Southwest Houston. This is a ground-floor opportunity to help build a Medicaid-focused, high-volume practice from the pre-opening phase through full operations, with a clearly defined pathway to future partnership or equity for the right candidate.

This role is ideal for a dentist who is comfortable with high-volume dentistry, interested in serving both adult and pediatric populations, and motivated to grow into ownership.

Who This Role Is For:
This opportunity is best suited for a dentist who ultimately wants to build and own, not just work as a long-term associate. The ideal candidate is excited by the idea of shaping a practice’s culture, systems, and growth, and is seeking a realistic path to meaningful ownership over time.

What We Offer:
  • Near-complete, turnkey dental suite (approx. 2,600 SF, multiple operatories)
  • Buildout completion and equipment support available
  • Strong Medicaid and mixed-payer demographic area
  • Competitive compensation once operations begin
  • Structured profit participation and a performance-based pathway to equity or partnership
  • One of the simplest and lowest-barrier paths to practice ownership or partnership, without the typical upfront capital investment required for startups or acquisitions
  • Opportunity to transition from founding clinician to long-term partner
  • Strategic and operational support from ownership
  • Single-location opportunity with long-term growth potential
Pre-Opening Involvement:
  • Begin Medicaid and insurance credentialing
  • Provide input on equipment selection and operatory layout
  • Assist with workflow planning and clinical protocols
  • Participate in staff hiring and onboarding
  • Help prepare for a successful grand opening
Clinical Responsibilities (Post-Opening):
  • Provide high-quality general dentistry to adult and pediatric patients
  • Diagnose and treatment plan in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment
  • Perform routine restorative, preventive, and basic surgical procedures
  • Supervise and collaborate with clinical staff
  • Maintain high standards of patient care and documentation
Qualifications:
  • DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school
  • Active Texas dental license (or in process)
  • Comfortable providing general dentistry to adult and pediatric patients (or willing to learn)
  • Comfortable with or interested in Medicaid dentistry
  • Strong work ethic and growth mindset
  • Entrepreneurial and ownership-oriented mentality
Compensation:
  • Competitive base or production-based compensation once operational
  • Additional upside through structured profit participation and a performance-based pathway to equity or partnership
How to Apply:
Please submit your CV/resume and a brief note describing your interest in a startup/partnership opportunity.
