Job Title: Power BI Admin

Location: Houston, TX (4 days onsite)

Job type: Fulltime opportunity

Key Responsibilities:

Platform Administration & Engineering

• Administer and maintain BI platforms: Power BI, Tableau, Sigma, and Spotfire.

• Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and performance through proactive monitoring and optimization.

• Perform regular patching, upgrades, and maintenance of BI servers and services.

• Implement and manage disaster recovery, backup, and failover strategies.

Development & Support Enablement

• Support BI developers and analysts with report publishing, data source integration, and performance tuning.

• Maintain development, test, and production environments with proper change control and documentation.

• Troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

Security & Access Management

• Manage user provisioning, role-based access controls, and group policies across BI platforms.

• Monitor usage and access logs to ensure compliance with enterprise security and data governance standards.

• Collaborate with InfoSec and compliance teams to implement platform-level security controls.

Infrastructure & Automation

• Support hybrid infrastructure including Azure, AWS, and on-premise Windows/Linux servers.

• Develop and maintain automation scripts for tasks such as user onboarding, report deployment, and system health checks.

• Integrate BI platforms with enterprise tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, monitoring systems).

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

• 5+ years of experience administering and supporting BI platforms including Power BI, Tableau, Sigma, and Spotfire.

• Experience working in environments where Snowflake is used as a data platform.

• Strong understanding of server architecture, cloud services, and networking fundamentals.

• Experience with patch management, system upgrades, and performance tuning.

• Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation and maintenance.

Preferred:

• Exposure to Qlik Replicate and Change Data Capture (CDC) processes.

• Certifications in Power BI, Tableau, Snowflake, Azure, or AWS.

• Experience with enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace).

• Familiarity with data governance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
