LIFE Saint Joseph of the Pines
Full Time, 32 hours per week
The Chaplain provides compassionate Spiritual Care within St Mary, supporting the spiritual and emotional well-being of patients, residents, participants, families, and colleagues. This role focuses on spiritual distress, grief support, crisis intervention, and guidance during major life changes. As a key member of the inter-professional care team, the Chaplain ensures the spiritual dimension of healing is integrated into the overall care experience.
What You Will Do
  • Provide transformative Spiritual Care experiences, honoring the diverse beliefs and values of those served.
  • Assess spiritual and religious needs, offer appropriate interventions, and document assessments, care, and outcomes.
  • Participate in ethics consultation processes when needed.
  • Collaborate with the Spiritual Care Manager to evaluate and improve care practices.
  • Educate and support colleagues in recognizing and responding to spiritual distress.
  • Facilitate interfaith or faith-specific prayer, meditation, worship, and sacraments, sometimes in partnership with community clergy.
  • Promote programs that enhance workplace spirituality and maintain sacred spaces.
  • Commit to ongoing self-care, growth, and spiritual formation.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Theology, Religion, Spirituality, or related field-or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of Spiritual Care experience, including CPE training.
  • Board Certification (APC, CASC, NACC, NAJC) strongly preferred.
  • Ability to develop programs supporting spiritual needs across diverse populations.
