Senior Executive Producer & Special Projects

WMUR-TV, the ABC affiliate in Manchester, NH, is looking for a Senior Executive Producer & Special Projects producer who can oversee newscasts and coach in a fast-paced news environment. This position will report to the News Director

You must be able to manage, coach, and motivate a team committed to excellence on broadcast and digital platforms.

A strong editorial voice, solid news judgment, and an aggressive coverage style are required. You must have the proven ability to make good ethical decisions, a solid producing background, and be able to make those you supervise better. 

The ideal candidate can handle breaking news when it happens and, when it doesn't, can still deliver interesting and relevant content to viewers across all platforms and teach others how to do the same. 

The right candidate will also be able to help oversee our Investigative team and Special Projects efforts. We need someone who can articulate a vision for investigations, promotable stories, documentary-style packages and special shows and then be able to lead the production of impactful, insightful and meaningful stories. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coach executive producers and line producers
  • Coach anchors, reporters and photojournalists
  • Oversee rundowns and scripts
  • Respond aggressively to breaking news
  • Lead editorial meetings
  • Help recruit and evaluate producers
  • Above average communication skills required

Requirements: 

  • Minimum five years producing experience
  • Prior management experience
  • Above average writing skills
  • Good news judgement
  • Ability to multi-task and coordinate crews and responsibilities simultaneously 
  • Creative presentation style and ability to showcase all resources and elements
  • Unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standards
