Job description

Tourism Marketing Manager
Remote with Required Regional Travel I Full-Time I $75k - $85k DOE I Reports to COO
About Mannix Marketing
Mannix Marketing is a digital marketing agency with 30 years of experience helping businesses thrive online. We provide comprehensive digital marketing solutions, including SEO, paid advertising, social media, content creation, and web design. Headquartered in Queensbury, NY, we also own and operate a network of high-traffic regional travel guides, including LakeGeorge.com, Saratoga.com, and Adirondack.net, making tourism not just a side of the business but a core part of who we are.
About the Role
Tourism is one of Mannix's largest and most established teams. We work with hotels, resorts, DMOs, attractions, and hospitality businesses across the Capital Region and beyond, and we've been doing it for decades.
We're looking for a Tourism Marketing Manager to lead this side of the business. This is a leadership role; you'll set the direction for the tourism team, shape how we package and deliver our services, hold accountability for the department's growth and profitability, and ensure we stay relevant in a market we care deeply about.
This is a fully remote role reporting directly to the COO. That said, it comes with a real expectation of regional presence. You'll attend networking events, visit clients, and show up in the Capital Region tourism community on a regular basis. If you already know this market, that's a genuine advantage.
What You'll Do
  • Set the vision, priorities, and direction for the tourism team and communicate them clearly.
  • Hold the team accountable for execution while supporting their development and growth.
  • Identify what's keeping us relevant and what needs to change, and act on it.
  • Report department performance, client health, and team capacity to leadership.
  • Partner leadership and sales to evaluate and evolve how we package and price our tourism offerings.
  • Identify opportunities within our regional portal properties to add value for tourism clients.
  • Attend local networking events, industry gatherings, and client meetings throughout the Adirondack and Upstate NY region.
  • Represent Mannix within the regional hospitality community.
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in digital marketing, with meaningful time spent in agency or client services environments.
  • Comfortable working across project management, analytics, and sales enablement tools. We use Asana, SEMrush, Google Analytics, Looker Studio, and others. Familiarity with these or similar platforms is expected.
  • Solid working knowledge of SEO, GEO, paid social, content marketing, and web. You don't need to execute all of it, but you need to know it well enough to lead people who do.
  • A genuine understanding of the tourism, hospitality, or destination marketing space - you know how these clients think and what they care about.
  • Experience leading or managing a team, with a track record of holding people accountable and helping them grow.
  • Clear, confident communicator - with clients, with your team, and with leadership.
  • Someone who thinks about the business, not just the tasks. You can connect day-to-day work to larger goals around growth and profitability.
  • Local to the Upstate, NY area. While this is a remote position, in-person presence in this market is a core part of the role.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while staying aligned with team strategy.
  • Must be located within the continental United States and legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
What We Offer
We want this to be a place where you can do your best work and feel good about where you work. Here's what comes with the role:
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Simple IRA with a 3% dollar-for-dollar company match
  • Paid time off starting at 12 days per year and increasing with tenure, up to 30 days for long-term team members
  • Flex time available for life appointments and personal needs
  • 9 paid holidays, with the option to swap for a cultural or religious holiday that matters to you
  • Fully remote
  • HeyTaco peer recognition program is a small but genuine way teammates appreciate each other
