Job description

Position:

Anticipated Full Time Armed School Security Officer

8 Hours/Day, as needed.

Location:

District ย 

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; valid New Jersey driver's license

  • 20+ years of service in a New Jersey Police Agency and retired in good standing.

  • Knowledge of security measures, fire prevention, and crowd control.

  • Ability to maintain order and to work with groups and individuals on matters of security and crisis management.

  • Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

  • Must pass psychological and medical testing.

  • Must possess a valid State of New Jersey Permit to Carry a Handgun.
  • Must have SORA (red) license and RPO for New Jersey.ย 
Responsibility:

To ensure the safety and security of students and staff. Responsible for patrolling school facilities and grounds to prevent disruptive or illegal actions, access to restricted areas, and theft and vandalism. Perform duties as per job description and any other duties as assigned under the supervision of the Director of Security or Program Supervisor.

Availability:

September 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027

As needed.

Salary:

Substitute Armed - $28.00/hour

Substitute Unarmed - $20.00 hour
