Job description

Position Summary
We are seeking a Utility Solar Mechanical Superintendent. Duties include coordination and planning of sub-contractors, and craft activities on a utility scale solar site. Develop and enhance subcontractor and customer relationships by providing superior service. Must be willing to travel and be based on-site at any of our utility scale solar projects. The Mechanical Superintendent position will manage assigned projects, including overseeing field and mechanical operations, general safety, productivity, schedule, quality inspections, and coordination with Foremen and project leaders on the jobsite.
This position is full-time, non-exempt, project location based.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and direct mechanical work activities on job sites; coordinate with the mechanical subcontractors and team members on schedules, updates, and look-ahead planning
  • Lead crews to complete projects safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with plans and specifications
  • Coordinate personnel, materials, and equipment to meet project demands; ensure teams have the necessary resources and support.
  • Supervise and maintain quality control for both self-performed and subcontracted work.
  • Manage coordination with manufacturers related to mechanical racking and post systems.
  • Support project management with planning and execution of mechanical means and methods.
  • Identify issues, evaluate solutions, and implement effective corrective actions
  • Follow and enforce company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
  • Verify appropriate welding certifications, training, and experience for assigned work.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and project-specific standards.
  • Maintain attention to detail while working efficiently and meeting deadlines.
  • Coordinate resources and activities to ensure safe, high-quality execution.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with Owner representatives and third-party agencies.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 2+ years of Mechanical supervisory experience.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge, including methods, equipment, and field practices
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, and prints, including underground duct banks and trenching.
  • Experience operating and supervising proper use of equipment in a solar or similar construction environment.
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
  • Strong customer service and client relationship skills
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Word, email, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Ability to work in both office and field environments.
  • Physically capable of sitting, standing, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
