Job Title: Grading Foreman

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Grading Foreman to lead and oversee grading crews on site development and civil construction projects. This role is responsible for supervising daily field operations, coordinating manpower and equipment, ensuring proper grade and site preparation, and maintaining a safe and productive job site.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader with hands-on grading experience who can read plans, manage crews, and deliver projects on schedule.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct grading crews on site development projects
  • Interpret blueprints, site plans, and grade stakes
  • Coordinate equipment, manpower, and materials for daily operations
  • Ensure rough and fine grading is completed to proper elevations and specifications
  • Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and surveyors
  • Maintain production schedules and meet deadlines
  • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and job site inspections
  • Train and mentor crew members
  • Perform hands-on equipment operation as needed

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of grading and sitework experience
  • Previous foreman or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of site development, drainage, and soil compaction
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and elevations
  • Experience with GPS machine control systems preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license required (CDL preferred)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to walk job sites and navigate uneven terrain
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds as needed
