IRONWILL Earthworks is a fast-growing, veteran-owned earthwork company dedicated to delivering quality service to our customers project after project. We pride ourselves on teamwork, precision, and delivering excellent results We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Earthwork Estimator to join our team. Candidates must have strong knowledge of AGTEK takeoff software, be proficient in reading geotechnical reports, and be comfortable using CRM software to manage client interactions and project tracking. The ideal candidate is not only an expert in estimating but also a relationship-builder with a proven track record of winning bids and driving profitability.

This role plays a key part in pre-construction planning, ensuring accurate and timely takeoffs, cost estimates, and collaboration with project stakeholders.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed earthwork quantity takeoffs using AGTEK and related software.
  • Analyze geotechnical reports, site plans, grading plans, civil drawings specifications and proposed project site conditions; record findings and solicit input from field operations to include in final project estimate.
  • Generate accurate cost estimates for site development, excavation, grading, and demolition for private and federal work.
  • Utilize CRM software to track leads, manage client communications, and follow up on bids.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors for pricing and scope clarification.
  • Manage and attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and subcontractor/vendor negotiations as needed.
  • Identify risk factors, value engineering opportunities, scope gaps or alternative methods to increase competitiveness of the bid.
  • Prepare and submit professional bid proposals within deadlines.
  • Communicate estimate bid information to field operations at pre-construction meetings to ensure understanding of scope of job and critical means and methods of construction.
  • Analyze competition and communicate with owners, subcontractors, public and private entities to ensure competitiveness.

  • Collaborate with upper management to refine pricing strategies and improve bid competitiveness.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships to increase bid opportunities in the regional market.
  • Strong technical knowledge of excavation, grading, and civil sitework.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • A network of relationships with General Contractors in Texas is a significant plus.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Earthwork Estimator in civil construction or site development.
  • Proficient in AGTEK takeoff software (required).
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical reports and how they impact earthwork and site planning.
  • Experience using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar).
  • Ability to read and interpret site plans, grading drawings, and civil engineering documents.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Familiarity with construction scheduling software or project management tools.
