Job description

Job Title: Construction Estimator

Employment Type: Full time / Direct Hire

Location: Wall Township, NJ

Job Summary:

Responsibilities

  • The Sr. Estimator will be responsible for the pricing of activities assigned by the Lead Estimator including all required takeoffs and procurement of all vendor and subcontractor quotes necessary to support the cost of heavy civil construction projects.
  • Review project plans, requirements, and specifications.
  • Preparation and pricing of Bid items.
  • Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and material pricing.
  • Review and understand all bid documents and assess project risks.
  • Understand project logistics and project schedule.
  • Pre-bid and final Bid review with the Project team.
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.
  • Estimate projects involving water/wastewater treatment plants & utility work.  Including concrete, steel, support of excavation, and foundation work for the plants. 

Qualifications

  • Degree preferred in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, but not required.
  • 10 years estimating experience in civil construction and concrete, preferably with underground utilities, treatment plant, and microtunneling.
  • Knowledge of construction means and methods, costs and engineering principles.
  • Effective presentation, oral and written skills, deadline and detail-oriented
  • Strong computer skills in Office 365, HCSS Heavy Bid/Heavy Job, Planswift Takeoff Software or equivalent.
  • Some travel to the job site is required.
  • Ability to prioritize, well-organized, flexible, detail oriented and multi-task oriented.
  • Each candidate for this position will be given a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Someone who has built or rehabilitated/expanded an existing plant.
  • Heavy Civil Estimating experience
