IT Support Specialist II
Position Summary
The IT Support Specialist II provides technical support to end users and assists with the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of the organization’s technology environment. This position troubleshoots and resolves hardware, software, and system-related issues; installs and configures software and system upgrades; and prepares, deploys, and maintains desktop and laptop computers.
The role also supports user access and account administration across multiple systems, including creating, modifying, and disabling accounts, and assists with the setup and administration of company-issued mobile devices. The IT Support Specialist II serves as a responsive technical resource to employees, helping ensure technology issues are resolved efficiently and systems remain secure, reliable, and operational.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares users by designing and conducting training programs, providing references and support.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Identify user needs.
  • Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers.
  • Administer desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, phones, software deployment, security updates and patches.
  • Creating and maintaining Helpdesk SOP’s
  • RingCentral phone system move, add, changes
Required Skills amp; Experience
Technical Skills
  • Windows Operating Platform (Win10/11)
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Desktop operating systems.
  • Experience with Office 365 tenant space amp; user administration and applications
  • Experience with Active Directory
  • Proficiency using remote access tools.
  • Knowledge of working within a ticketing system
  • Experience with RingCentral or other SaaS telephony platforms
Communication Skills
  • Proven, excellent customer service
  • Patience under stressful situations (i.e. network outages, server down, etc.)
  • Ability to think critically by using reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative approaches to problems
  • Ability to work alone, in a group, or under direct supervision effectively
  • An attitude conducive to learning and accepting challenges head on is a must
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed

Education amp; Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience.
  • A+ or Network+ certifications.
  • Microsoft certifications are a plus.
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in IT support, help desk, or desktop support roles.
Working Conditions
  • Standard Office/Campus Environment
  • Sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and move computer equipment up to 25-40 pounds
Compensation
  • $55,000 - $65,000
    • Starting rate will be commensurate with experience/skill
