Their work includes measuring, cutting, bending, and fitting pipes made from materials such as steel, copper, and plastic to carry water, fuel, steam, and other fluids. Pipefitters must read blueprints, follow safety regulations, and use a variety of tools and equipment. They play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of a ship's mechanical systems.
