Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Pipefitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work effectively in a shipyard setting. As a Pipefitter, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems in accordance with industry codes and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately interpret and translate complex blueprints and technical drawings to plan pipe layout and installation sequences within piping systems.
  • Cut, bend, and thread pipes using various hand and power tools like pipe cutters, bending machines, and threading machines to achieve precise dimensions.
  • Rip out, repair, target, layout, fabricate, install and test marine piping systems onboard ships in various stages of repair and modernization.
  • Position and install pipes within designated locations on the ship, ensuring proper alignment and support structures are in place.
  • Utilize basic math skills to calculate measurements and material requirements accurately.
  • Collaborate with other trades on site to ensure seamless project execution.

Experience

  • At least 5+ years experience as a Pipefitter or in a similar role within the shipyard industry is required.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with a focus on pipeline installation and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards governing piping systems.
