Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Pipefitter to join our team. The ideal candidate willpossess strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work effectively in ashipyard setting. As a Pipefitter, you will be responsible for assembling,installing, and maintaining piping systems in accordance with industry codesand standards.
Responsibilities
- Accurately interpret and translate complex blueprints and technical drawings to plan pipe layout and installation sequences within piping systems.
- Cut, bend, and thread pipes using various hand and power tools like pipe cutters, bending machines, and threading machines to achieve precise dimensions.
- Rip out, repair, target, layout, fabricate, install and test marine piping systems onboard ships in various stages of repair and modernization.
- Position and install pipes within designated locations on the ship, ensuring proper alignment and support structures are in place.
- Utilize basic math skills to calculate measurements and material requirements accurately.
- Collaborate with other trades on site to ensure seamless project execution.
Experience
- At least 5+ years experience as a Pipefitter or in a similar role within the shipyard industry is required.
