Job description

A client is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, documentation, and troubleshooting of commercial HVAC products. This role will work closely with production, engineering, sales, and customers to ensure electrical systems are designed, documented, and supported effectively throughout the product lifecycle. This is a full-time position on-site in Athens, TX.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Provide electrical troubleshooting support for production and manufacturing operations.
  • Design, develop, and maintain electrical systems and wiring documentation for commercial HVAC equipment.
  • Program, configure, and develop controllers used within HVAC products.
  • Size and specify electrical components including electric reheat systems, heating elements, wiring, and related electrical hardware.
  • Support product development initiatives by evaluating and implementing electrical design improvements
  • Serve as a technical resource for customers, resolving electrical product issues and providing engineering support.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to provide technical expertise during customer engagements and product discussions.
  • Support laboratory and flow stand testing activities; assist with product validation and performance verification.
  • Utilize electrical testing equipment to diagnose and resolve product and manufacturing issues.
  • Ensure products comply with industry safety standards.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives to improve product quality and reliability.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, production, quality, and customer support teams.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of electrical engineering experience; 10–15 years preferred.
  • Proven experience in electrical design, troubleshooting, and product support.
  • Experience creating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Experience programming and developing controllers or embedded control systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical components, power distribution, wiring practices, and heating element applications.
  • Knowledge of UL, ETL, and electrical safety standards.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot complex electrical systems and identify root causes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
