What does a full time shadowing electrical engineer do?

A Full Time Shadowing Electrical Engineer is typically a student or recent graduate who observes and assists experienced electrical engineers in a professional setting. Their main role is to learn by watching, participating in meetings, and sometimes helping with hands-on tasks under supervision. This position allows them to gain practical insight into the daily responsibilities, problem-solving, and project management aspects of electrical engineering. It's an excellent opportunity to build industry connections, understand workplace expectations, and develop relevant technical and soft skills.

What can I expect in terms of mentorship and hands-on experience while shadowing a full time electrical engineer?

As a shadowing electrical engineer, you will typically work closely with experienced professionals, observing their daily tasks such as designing circuits, troubleshooting systems, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions, participate in site visits, and assist with project documentation or testing under supervision. This immersive environment is designed to provide you with practical insights into real-world engineering challenges and help you build foundational skills for future advancement. Mentors often encourage active participation and provide feedback to support your professional development.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a full time shadowing electrical engineer, and why are they important?
