About This Role


The Electrical Eng. Technician supports product verification activities through functional, electrical, and continuity testing of cable harnesses and electromechanical assemblies. This role ensures hardware meets engineering requirements, quality standards, and enduser reliability expectations while enabling efficient production flow.

Responsibilities:

         Perform functional, electrical, and continuity testing on cable harnesses, electronic subassemblies, and electromechanical hardware.

         Use test equipment such as multimeters, hipot testers, continuity testers, DIT-MCO, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and automated test systems to verify performance against specifications.

         Interpret and work from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and work instructions to execute test procedures accurately.

         Validate workmanship of cable harnesses, connectors, terminations, routing, strain relief, and labeling per industry standards

         Execute stepbystep test protocols, record results, and verify compliance with documented requirements.

         Identify, document, and escalate nonconformances, supporting troubleshooting and rootcause activities with engineering and quality teams.

         Support test fixture setup, calibration checks, and basic equipment maintenance.

         Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering to improve material flow and resolve test-related issues.

         Ensure test activities align with safety, ESD, handling, and quality standards.

         Maintain accurate records, including test data, logs, and configuration tracking.

         Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, including enhancing test methods, workflow efficiency, and repeatability.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2-5 years of related experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, cable harness drawings, and engineering documentation.
  • Foundational understanding of basic electricity (voltage, current, resistance) and practical aptitude using measurement equipment.
  • Experience performing continuity, resistance, and functional electrical tests.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and test tools commonly used for cable harness inspection and verification.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to follow instructions precisely, and maintain accuracy in repetitive tasks.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office or similar) for recording test results and accessing work instructions.
  • Ability to  troubleshoot electrical faults (opens, shorts, miswires, intermittent conditions).
  • Ability to work safely with energized assemblies and follow ESD guidelines.
  • U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain a security clearance.

Preferred

  • Experience testing cable harnesses, electronic assemblies, or electromechanical systems in aerospace, defense, or similar highreliability industries.
  • Familiarity with IPC/WHMAA620, IPC610, or JSTD001 requirements for cable and electronic assembly workmanship.
  • Knowledge of automated test systems, test scripts, or test software interfaces.
  • Experience with hipot testing, insulation resistance testing, or environmental/functional acceptance testing.
  • Background in assembling or inspecting electromechanical hardware.
  • Experience supporting engineers with test method development or test fixture improvements.
