Position Title: Elementary School Technology Teacher
Reports To: Building Principal
Contract: Regular, Full-Time
FLSA Status: Exempt
Position Summary
The Elementary School Technology Teacher facilitates student learning through engaging, standards-based instruction in technology and computer education. The teacher identifies and responds to the diverse learning needs of students, creates a positive and well-managed learning environment, and integrates instructional technology to enhance student achievement. This position also serves as a resource for colleagues by providing leadership and professional development in the effective use of technology throughout the school district.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Ohio teaching license/certification (K 6 preferred) prior to Board approval.
  • Instructional Technology endorsement preferred.
  • Master's degree in a technology-related field and/or potential to obtain Ohio Career-Technical Education (CTE) certification is desirable.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in instructional technology integration.
  • Strong classroom management and behavior management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative educational environment.
  • Ability to provide professional development and technology support for staff.
  • Strong communication, leadership, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Essential Responsibilities
Instruction and Student Learning
  • Deliver highly effective daily instruction based on student needs and aligned to curriculum standards.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Utilize research-based instructional practices and culturally responsive teaching strategies.
  • Incorporate 21st-century technology skills into daily instruction.
  • Use formative and summative assessment data to guide instruction and improve student achievement.
  • Create a safe, positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Implement school-wide expectations for student behavior and culture.

Classroom Management
  • Effectively manage classroom procedures and student behavior to maximize learning.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
  • Prepare clear, timely lesson plans and maintain appropriate instructional materials.
  • Provide complete lesson plans and materials for substitute teachers as needed.

Student Support and Communication
  • Monitor, maintain, and communicate student progress.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records as required by district, state, and federal regulations.
  • Provide guidance and support that promotes students' educational development and well-being.
  • Notify parents and administrators when students are not meeting academic or behavioral expectations.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and development.
  • Attend parent-teacher conferences and other school events as required.

Technology Leadership
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the District Technology Plan.
  • Model effective integration of technology into teaching and learning.
  • Provide professional development and instructional technology support for colleagues.
  • Collaborate with staff to identify and implement innovative technology solutions that enhance instruction and student learning.

Professional Responsibilities
  • Collaborate respectfully and effectively with colleagues, administrators, students, families, and community members.
  • Participate in school improvement initiatives and non-instructional activities.
  • Demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
  • Maintain and improve professional competence through ongoing professional development.
  • Relentlessly pursue district and school goals related to student achievement, school culture, and continuous improvement.
