Sawmill Supervisor – Job Description

Position Summary

Thompson Hardwoods, Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated Sawmill Supervisor to oversee daily sawmill production operations at our Hazlehurst, Georgia facility. This leadership role is responsible for supervising production employees, maintaining safe and efficient operations, ensuring product quality, and meeting production goals in a fast-paced hardwood sawmill environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, operational knowledge, and a commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily sawmill production activities
  • Lead and support production employees to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals
  • Monitor workflow, equipment performance, and production output
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
  • Train, coach, and develop team members on equipment operation and work procedures
  • Communicate production goals, schedules, and operational updates to employees
  • Coordinate with maintenance personnel to minimize downtime and address equipment issues
  • Maintain accurate production and operational records
  • Promote housekeeping, organization, and safe work practices throughout the facility
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency

Qualifications
