This remote position allows for flexibility while contributing significantly to our mission of providing quality mental health services to underserved communities. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the support and treatment of individuals experiencing major mental illnesses and severe emotional disorders, ensuring they receive compassionate and effective care.

About the Organization

At San Ysidro Wellness Center, we are committed to promoting healthier communities by delivering patient-centered healthcare services in areas that are medically under-served. Our vision encompasses a global outlook with a local impactโ€”ensuring that every member of our community has access to essential health services regardless of their ability to pay. Our mission drives our daily operations and defines our commitment to becoming a model for other health centers. We believe in empowering our clients and creating sustainable well-being.

Work Environment

This role offers a remote work setting, which provides flexibility to manage your schedule while ensuring daily responsibilities towards client care are met efficiently. The position will involve occasional travel to community locations, such as schools, where many of our clients engage with our services. Working at San Ysidro Wellness Center means being part of a supportive and collaborative team that values innovation, teamwork, and the promotion of mental health awareness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct direct clinical engagements with clients both in-office and in community settings, administering assessments to individuals facing mental health challenges.
  • Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams to achieve common objectives and maintain a client-centered approach throughout all services.
  • Implement integrated care plans tailored to each client's unique needs, ensuring that they receive broad access to essential linked services.
  • Assist in crisis interventions, employing sound judgment and established protocols to address immediate needs of clients.
  • Conduct developmentally appropriate screening and assessment, facilitating appropriate referrals and ongoing evaluations as necessary.
  • Maintain a manageable caseload while performing individual, group, and family therapy sessions focusing on client-requested services and presenting problems.
  • Complete required documentation and reports in a timely manner, ensuring adherence to agency standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through training sessions, workshops, and committee participation aimed at enhancing agency service delivery.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This position focuses primarily on clients dealing with significant emotional and psychological distress, including those diagnosed with major mental illnesses. The diverse backgrounds of our clients challenge practitioners to adopt culturally competent strategies and emphasize the importance of individualized care plans that respect varying traditions, beliefs, and experiences. As an LCSW, you will be integral in guiding clients through their journeys towards recovery and empowerment within an inclusive environment.

Qualifications
  • A Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
  • You must be a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of New York.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
  • Demonstrated organizational abilities and planning skills to manage multiple cases efficiently.
  • A commitment to maintaining ethical standards and adherence to the code of conduct as stipulated by the organization.
  • Knowledge in age-related concerns and developmental needs for various populations is expected.
Preferred Experience
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience in a mental health setting is strongly preferred.
  • Expertise in risk assessment, crisis management, and evidence-based intervention strategies will be highly regarded.
Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this full-time position ranges from USD 70,000 to 85,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, San Ysidro Wellness Center offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, paid time off, professional development allowances, and retirement planning options. We recognize and reward the value of our employees through competitive compensation and a supportive work environment.
