RIG WELDER

We are looking to fill a Rig Welder position in Byers, CO. As a Rig Welder you will operate your own rigto weld pipelines, structural components, and field equipment. You'll be responsible for reading blueprints, interpreting specifications, and executing precise welds in compliance with safety and quality standards. This role requires travel to job sites, the ability to work in outdoor environments, and strict adherence to safety standards. Preferred candidates have proven welding expertise, current certifications, and a well-maintained welding rig.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Know methods used for welding a variety of materials and components
  • Inspects equipment and structures
  • Weld on pipe from any position (i.e., standing, kneeling, lying down on side or back, and in all these positions from a scaffold)
  • Handle and use portable electric or air grinders and buffers, pre-heating equipment and hand wire brushes
  • Follows sketches and specifications
  • Read blueprints to ensure accuracy of welds
  • Complete all required written tests, hands-on training, and Operator Qualification modules
  • Follows safety protocol, including wearing heat resistant gloves, protective mask, and safety glasses
  • Follow all safety protocol for customers, local, state and federal regulations, safety and emergency practices and procedures
  • Secure work site at the end of each shift to ensure public safety and safety of equipment and materials
  • Travel as needed
  • Provide and maintain your own welding rig and equipment
  • Additional duties assigned

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Able to weld according to required specifications
  • Able to pass welding test
  • DOT Medical Card – If driving company vehicle
  • Valid Driver's License
  • You must provide your own:
  • Welding rig (truck)
  • Insurance
  • Tools and equipment
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA requirements and safe working practices
  • Excellent communication skills – both oral and written
  • Excellent reading skills
  • The physical activity required for this role includes:
  • Moving around, under, and over pipes
  • Moving over uneven and variable terrain or in confined spaces
  • Enter and exit trenches by either a ladder or a ramp
  • Exposure to a wide range of weather conditions, including hot and cold weather
  • Exposure to loud work environments
  • Standing, sitting, or walking for long periods of time
  • Other repetitive movements, such as kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching
  • Repeatedly lifting heavy loads (up to 50 lbs.)
  • Correctly wearing protective gear
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
