Rafferty Construction, Inc., a rapidly growing national commercial construction company headquartered in Franklin, Indiana, is seeking a competent, self-motivated Construction Superintendent to join our team. We specialize in ground-up construction, interior tenant build-outs, and restaurant projects, serving clients across more than 25 markets nationwide.
About the Role
This is a full-time, field-based position requiring 100% travel to project sites nationwide. As a Traveling Construction Superintendent, you will oversee daily on-site operations, ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage day-to-day construction activities and tasks
  • Schedule and supervise subcontractors
  • Implement and manage project administration requirements
  • Create, update, and maintain project schedules
  • Meet or exceed established construction timelines
  • Oversee quality control throughout the project lifecycle
  • Schedule and coordinate all field inspections
  • Verify that all work complies with contract documents, plans, and specifications
  • Define, communicate, and enforce company standards for installations and finishes
  • Handle estimating, contract negotiations, and purchasing for small project items
Qualifications
  • Proven ground up experience in commercial construction (field experience strongly preferred)
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction documents, including civil, architectural, and mechanical drawings, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to challenges
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and internet applications
