• Conduct detailed mental health assessments to identify co-occurring disorders and individual treatment requirements, employing standardized assessment tools and protocols.
• Develop and customize evidence-based treatment plans that reflect the unique needs and goals of each client, utilizing approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, addressing a range of issues, including addiction recovery, trauma processing, and emotional regulation skills.
• Regularly monitor and evaluate clients’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary based on empirical evidence and client feedback.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, which includes psychiatrists, social workers, and addiction specialists, to ensure the delivery of comprehensive, holistic care.
• Provide education and guidance to clients and their families on topics related to mental health, addiction recovery, and coping strategies, thereby enhancing their understanding and involvement in the therapeutic process.
• Maintain up-to-date and confidential records of client interactions and progress, adhering strictly to ethical and legal standards.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Mind Ward, you will primarily work with clients experiencing addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. Our clients come from diverse backgrounds and present a range of challenges, necessitating a compassionate and individualized approach to their care. You will play a crucial role in enabling these clients to develop essential coping skills, enhance their resilience, and work toward sustainable recovery.

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in New York.
• A minimum of three years of recent experience in a clinical mental health setting is required, preferably within addiction treatment.

• Additional training or specialization in addiction rehabilitation or trauma-informed care is preferred.
• Experience working in collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Proficiency in virtual counseling platforms and tools is an advantage.
