To thrive as a Full Time Remote Product Designer, you need a strong background in UX/UI design, visual communication, and user research, typically supported by a degree in design or a related field. Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and experience with prototyping and collaboration platforms is essential. Excellent communication, self-motivation, and time management are vital soft skills for remote teamwork and delivering quality solutions. These competencies ensure you can create user-centered products efficiently while collaborating effectively with distributed teams.

What are some common challenges faced by full-time remote product designers, and how can they be addressed?

Full-time remote product designers often face challenges related to communication and collaboration, especially when working across different time zones or with cross-functional teams. It can be more difficult to gather feedback quickly or to maintain a shared understanding of design goals. To mitigate these challenges, remote designers typically rely on clear documentation, regular virtual meetings, and collaborative design tools like Figma or Miro. Proactively reaching out to stakeholders and participating in team stand-ups can also help maintain alignment and foster strong working relationships.

This role plays a critical part in designing and evolving digital products that deliver meaningful, accessible, and intuitive user experiences across complex platforms. This person will collaborate closely with product owners, product specialists, engineers, and fellow designers and researchers to bring user-centered solutions to life. Under the guidance of senior design leadership, this role is responsible for translating the voice of the customer into clear, usable, and accessible product capabilities that align with both business and technical requirements.

This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is motivated by solving complex problems through thoughtful design.
Responsibilities

  • Partner with lead designers to finalize feature designs, expand workflows to capture all user scenarios, and create interactive prototypes with detailed design annotations.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs that are both intuitive and technically feasible.
  • Ensure designs adhere to established accessibility standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with product owners and agile teams to ensure design intent is accurately reflected in epics, features, and user stories.
  • Incorporate feedback from stakeholders, sprint planning sessions, and daily standups to continuously refine designs.
  • Perform design QA to validate that implemented solutions meet design specifications and quality expectations.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to uncover customer needs, pain points, and behaviors.
  • Analyze and synthesize research findings to inform design decisions and recommend user-centered solutions.
  • Present research insights, design concepts, and prototypes to stakeholders, incorporating feedback to improve outcomes.
  • Represent design in cross-functional ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and daily standups.
  • Clearly articulate design rationale and advocate for the user experience with developers, product managers, and business partners.
  • Partner closely with engineering teams to clarify design details and support implementation.
  • Contribute to the evolution of design processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Explore and test new ideas that challenge existing approaches, delivering experiences that emphasize simplicity, consistency, and innovation.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in digital product design across web and mobile platforms.
  • Experience designing for B2B platforms or complex systems.
  • Prior experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or related web technologies to collaborate effectively with engineers.
  • Experience designing accessible user interfaces and familiarity with WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA standards.
  • Proficiency in Figma and experience working with design systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to create user flows, wireframes, design annotations, and interactive prototypes.
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing, with the ability to synthesize and present insights clearly.
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and user-centered design methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and adapt quickly in a dynamic, agile environment.
  • Proactive, self-directed approach with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Analytical and creative mindset, balancing detailed problem-solving with strategic thinking.
  • Proven ability to work closely with agile teams to drive efficient, high-quality design implementation.
