Billing and Insurance Verification Specialist
Department: Quality Care Rehab

Compensation: $19.00 - $20.00 / hour
Description
TMC is a national therapy provider offering physical, occupational, and speech therapy services to Senior Living communities across the country. We bring expert care directly to long-term care providers and are seeking a qualified Billing Specialist to join our team.
Scope: We currently have an opportunity for a highly motivated biller to join our team. We are looking for an energetic, result-driven individual who pays close attention to detail and who is also able to work well independently. This individual will be an integral part of a rapidly growing company, with room for growth opportunities.
Schedule:Monday to Friday 40 hours/week - In Office
Key Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness of assigned monthly customer invoices
  • Verify insurance from patient referrals
  • Ensure patient is within eligibility requirements (i.e. contracted with insurance network, home health, etc.).
  • Process/obtain authorizations as needed to treat patients (evals and treatments)
  • Obtain approvals to continue treatment of patient.
  • Research and resolve issues with payers presented
  • Responsible for interaction with therapy team and customers; promote a positive work environment
  • Develop professional working relationships with facility team members and our other customers
  • Troubleshoot invoice issues and resolve
  • Communicate relevant facility, patient and/or issues to Controller in a timely fashion.
  • Follow-up on outstanding receivables as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with teams and customers
  • 1 year of experience in healthcare, working knowledge of insurances
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of billing and insurance terminology.
  • Self-starter, attention to detail, and organized.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Compliance focused and detail oriented.
