Program Support Specialist (Radiation Health Program)
ROLE
We need an experienced Program Support Specialist supporting the Radiation Health Program at the Naval Dosimetry Center (NDC) in Bethesda, Maryland. NDC serves as the Navy's ionizing radiation dosimetry center of excellence, providing naval commands worldwide with radiation dosimetry processing, consultation services, and comprehensive exposure recordkeeping in support of force health protection and regulatory compliance. In this role, you will sit at the intersection of data, compliance, and program operations -- supporting a technically demanding radiation health environment where accuracy matters, records carry medical and legal weight, and your analytical contributions directly support dose-of-record reporting for Navy personnel worldwide. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide coordination, documentation, scheduling, tracking, and program maintenance support for approved Radiation Health Program initiatives as directed by the Government
  • Organize, update, and maintain procedures, guidelines, reference materials, training support documentation, and operational records using Government-approved templates and systems
  • Collaborate with health science specialists, analysts, and other personnel to review and organize program documentation supporting program administration
  • Support onboarding and offboarding activities by preparing documentation packets, tracking completion of Government-defined checklists, and reporting status to designated personnel
  • Compile, organize, and present program objectives, performance information, and process data into draft summaries, reports, or standardized formats as directed
  • Compile and track program-related data using Government-provided sources and templates to support status reporting and trend visibility
  • Leverage SQL, Excel, and Power BI to conduct trend analysis on program-relevant datasets and prepare draft analytic products for Government review
  • Identify patterns or anomalies in program data and prepare draft analytic products for Government review
  • Support automated system monitoring and assist with routine quality support activities by documenting observed conditions and tracking Government-identified corrective actions
  • Assist with preparation, organization, and maintenance of program-related instructional, written, and oral briefing materials
  • Provide records and information management support by receiving, organizing, tracking, digitizing, and maintaining program records within Government-approved systems
  • Identify incomplete or inconsistent submissions and flag for Government awareness
REQUIRED EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS
  • Associate's degree in a related field - required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS
  • At least one (1) year of experience supporting laboratory, technical processing, quality-controlled production, or comparable scientific/technical operations
  • Working knowledge of ionizing radiation dosimetry operations, including quality-controlled processing, traceable recordkeeping, and technical documentation practices
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis methods sufficient to interpret and present data from DoD, commercial, and medical treatment facility sources
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Publisher
  • Experience performing duties in a laboratory setting with occupational radiation worker considerations
  • Ability to meet production timeliness and quality expectations in an environment where work products carry medical and legal significance
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS
  • Prior experience supporting accredited laboratory environments (e.g., ISO/IEC 17025 or similar quality frameworks)
  • Experience with TLD dosimetry processing operations and statistical/process control reporting
  • Experience supporting shipment tracking and regulated materials handling
  • Experience maintaining auditable technical records and participating in audit or corrective action workflows
