Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting with the maintenance and care of the track surface for racing and training purposes.
  • Assists with maintaining the safety lane for racing and training purposes.
  • Assists with preserving the paddock hills from ruts and wash outs.
  • Assists with removal snow in a timely manner.
  • Drives vehicles including, but not limited to trucks, graders, tractors, water truck, skid steer, - and front-end loader.
  • Ensures horse ambulance is ready and functioning for daily racing.
  • Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and minimum one (1) year of facilities maintenance experience in racing or similar work environment required.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills; must be fluent and literate in English.
  • Must have working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and/or finishing trades.
  • Must be skilled in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Must have basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues.
  • Ability to safely operate all equipment, including automobiles, tractors, skid steers, and front-end loaders.
