KAEF is looking for a Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) to join our team in beautiful Eureka, California! We are seeking a curious, driven and creative candidate who is eager to tell impactful stories that matter. The ideal candidate thinks outside the box and elevates their storytelling with compelling visuals and enhanced content on our digital and social platforms.
Get your career started off right and take it to where you want to go. Former KRCR alums have gone on to CNN (Boris Sanchez), ESPN/NFL Network (Rich Eisen), and The White House (NBC's Kristen Welker).
Responsibilities:
• Research, shoot, write, and edit daily content for various platforms in a manner that is clear and engaging to news consumers
• Enterprise story ideas and develop contacts to generate interesting and relatable stories
Valuable Skills:
• Sharp news judgment
• Solid writing & technical skills
• Good communication skills
• Social Media expertise
• Ability to think critically, problem solve, and work well independently
Experience:
• Experience with live shots is required; experience with Live-U is a plus
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and a good driving record
• A minimum of 1 year of reporting experience is preferred, but new graduates will be considered

The base hourly compensation range for this role is $17.50 to $18.27 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full-time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental, and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
