Job Description:
Purpose of Job: Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by supporting the Compliance Department and other CHAS Health staff as follows:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides Compliance department with analytical support as part of billing and coding compliance and monitoring activities, including drafting reports and presentations.
  • Supports Billing Compliance department with auditing and monitoring tasks related to billing and coding compliance.
  • Assists with documentation collection, review, and quality assurance for department as needed.
  • Facilitates the Corrective Action Plan process.
  • Provides general assistance with state and federal compliance requirements.
  • Monitors department help ticket system and completes tasks as assigned.
  • Conducts research and drafts memorandums to Billing Compliance Manager.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, including supporting the CHAS Health Mission and Core Values.

Qualifications:
Education/Experience: One year of work experience in health care privacy or compliance role required. Current/valid medical coding certification from the American Health Information Management Association or American Academy of Professional Coders required.
Skills: Computer skills, including experience in Microsoft Office suite, required. Excellent analytical skills, written and verbal skills, and organizational skills required. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality required. Ability to work under tight time constraints, work independently, provide excellent summaries of projects, and manage changing priorities required. Commitment to supporting a safe and respectful environment is required. Valid driver license and insurance required.
Physical Demands:
Must talk, hear, and sit more than two-thirds of the day. Using hands occurs over two-thirds of the day, while reaching with arms occurs less than one-third of the day. Communicating is required over two-thirds of the day, while climbing, stooping, or crawling is minimal. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
