Job Description

This is a full time opportunity with a growing and dynamic Insurance and Annuites firm.


Basic Function:

Under the immediate supervision of a Senior Programmer Analyst, Technical Manager, Director of Applications Development or other project leaders works to design and implement new or enhanced computer systems; evaluate and modify existing systems. Writes programming code to meet the information system needs of end users, using the appropriate technology and programming languages

Qualifications

Any of the following educational or work experience is considered a plus:
- Programming in a mainframe, mini, or PC environment
- Solving non-routine business problems
- Working in IBM ISeries/AS400
- Plex, Cobol, Coldfusion/PHP, Javascript/jQuery, Ajax, SQL, Visual Studio, .Net
- Skilled with Object Oriented Design and Development
- Knowledge of Broker/Dealer or mutual fund operating Systems

Education/Training:
Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
