Job Title: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced operator with a track record of leading transformational growth, scaling multi-site businesses, and building world-class teams.

Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the COO will lead day-to-day operations and drive execution of the company’s strategic vision. The ideal candidate is a high-impact operational leader with deep experience across functions such as supply chain, logistics, production, and customer delivery. This role requires significant travel within California (approximately 50%) to support and oversee various business locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute operational strategies that align with the company’s growth objectives and private equity value-creation goals
  • Translate vision into clear plans with measurable outcomes across functional teams

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Oversee core operations including supply chain, production, customer service, and logistics
  • Ensure excellence in execution, service delivery, and operational discipline across all business units

Team Development & Culture Building

  • Build, mentor, and retain high-performing teams across multiple locations
  • Champion a culture of accountability, innovation, continuous improvement, and customer-centricity

Process Improvement & Performance Optimization

  • Identify and implement operational best practices to drive efficiency, cost savings, and scalability
  • Monitor KPIs and performance metrics to ensure sustained improvement
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives and data-driven decision-making to increase operational agility and visibility
  • Ensure adherence to safety, legal, and regulatory requirements across all operating sites
  • Proactively manage risk and crisis response planning

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner closely with the executive team to align operations with strategic goals
  • Manage and nurture key relationships with customers, vendors, and business partners

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive senior operational leadership experience in PE-backed, multi-site, or growth-stage companies
  • Experience leading California-based operations with demonstrated success scaling teams and infrastructure
  • Expertise in supply chain, logistics, and performance management
  • Skilled at leading transformation efforts in dynamic environments
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% throughout California
