Job description

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
  • Apply paint, powder coat, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer using spray equipment or manual techniques to protect and finish products, equipment, or structures

  • Prepare surfaces for coating by sanding, scraping, cleaning, masking, and removing old coatings to ensure proper adhesion and finish quality

  • Operate and adjust spray equipment, including powder coat systems, to achieve consistent coverage and finish thickness

  • Review work orders, specifications, and instructions to ensure correct coating application and appearance

  • Monitor and allow proper curing and drying times, including oven cure cycles for powder coating, prior to inspection and next production steps

  • Perform routine cleaning, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of spray guns, powder coat equipment, booths, and related tools

  • Inspect coated parts for quality, thickness, defects, and finish to ensure compliance with customer and internal standards

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with safety and environmental guidelines

  • Collaborate closely with team members to meet production schedules and quality expectations

  • Provide guidance, training, or review of work for less experienced painters or powder coaters (level dependent)

YOU HAVE:
  • Experience with surface preparation, paint application, powder coating, and spraying techniques

  • Proficiency using spray guns, powder coat equipment, sanding tools, and general hand tools

  • Understanding of various coatings, finishes, cure processes, and quality control requirements

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality finishes

  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, production schedules, and safety procedures

  • Willingness to learn and expand skills across painting and powder coating operations

  • Dependable attendance with the ability to work independently or as part of a team

  • Additional experience and the ability to train or mentor others for senior-level roles
