Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Rolling Department in Davenport, IA. This role involves managing multiple capital projects across the Plate department from start to finish. Working collaboratively with a team of Electrical Engineers, technical staff, maintenance, and production, you will enhance processes, reliability, and equipment through innovative solutions.
This position reports to the Lead Electrical Engineer and will primarily work Monday through Friday during daytime hours, with occasional off-hours support required for project needs.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all phases of assigned electrical engineering projects, including concept, scope development, specifications, design, manufacturing, commissioning, and project closure.
  • Lead and participate in problem-solving efforts with technical staff, maintenance, and production teams.
  • Utilize PI Vision and Data Link to analyze process issues and develop solutions.
  • Develop electrical control solutions to improve process performance and equipment reliability.
  • Assist production and maintenance teams with equipment and process issues.
  • Redesign and upgrade PLC/HMI controls for existing processes.
  • Install and troubleshoot camera systems on industrial equipment.
  • Incorporate SMART Manufacturing principles into automated inspection systems to enhance processes, data collection, and recovery improvements.
  • Mentor employees as needed to increase knowledge of equipment and processes.

Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • 3-6 years of Electrical Engineering experience, particularly in designing, installing, and maintaining electromechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Project programs.
  • Strong communication skills in diverse settings (shop floor, peers, leadership).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Compliance with Export Control Law requirements.

Preferred:
  • Experience in manufacturing within a highly industrial environment.
  • 1-3 years of experience with PLCs, HMIs, AC/DC drives & motors, measuring devices, and Ethernet cameras.
  • Proficiency with Rockwell programming software (e.g., RS Logix and FactoryView).
  • 3+ years of experience in leading electrical projects, including budget and schedule development.
  • Demonstrated success as a project implementation manager.
