Job description

Position Title: K-12 Project Associate

Reports to: K-12 Project Coordinator


Salary: $50,000 - $65,000 per year

LOCATION

Hybrid, Remote, 30% travel

 

DESCRIPTION

IACMI - The Composites Institute®, is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented K-12 Project Associate to support the execution of a growing portfolio of youth-focused workforce and STEM initiatives. This role will support K-12 programming across efforts such as Foundations, METAL K-12 activities, ACE youth engagement, and related education and career awareness initiatives designed to strengthen the future manufacturing workforce pipeline.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working across multiple projects and teams in a fast-moving environment. This person should be able to support project execution, track milestones and deliverables, maintain reporting systems, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and help ensure K-12 initiatives are aligned with broader workforce goals. The K-12 Project Associate will play an important role in supporting high-quality delivery, strong communication, and measurable outcomes across IACMI’s K-12 programming.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of K-12 initiatives across IACMI’s workforce development portfolio, including Foundations, ACE and METAL youth engagement, and related STEM programing
  • Assist in tracking project milestones, deliverables, schedules, and workflows to help ensure timely and effective program execution.
  • Maintain reporting systems, dashboards, and program records to support ongoing tracking of metrics, deliverables, and outcomes.
  • Assist in the development of reports, updates, and summaries for internal leadership, funders, and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings, including scheduling, agenda support, note capture, and follow-up actions.
  • Work with education partners, schools, curriculum developers, and program stakeholders to gather information, track progress, and support implementation.
  • Support event planning, logistics, and execution for K-12 workshops, outreach activities, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including communications and workforce staff, to support outreach materials, event preparation, and program alignment.
  • Help capture stakeholder feedback, participant information, and program data to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Support alignment between K-12 initiatives and broader workforce development strategies to ensure consistency across programs.
  • Assist with special projects, administrative coordination, and ad hoc reporting related to K-12 programming.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant experience in education, workforce development, project coordination, program support, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in project coordination, education programming, reporting, or stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines at once.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Ability to track detailed information, maintain organized records, and support reporting across multiple initiatives.
