Compensation: $60,000 (Plus Lesson Income)

Belfair Property Owners Association is seeking a Racquet Sports Professional - Director of Pickleball to assist our Director of Court Sports in leading and growing our vibrant Pickleball and Tennis programs, with a primary emphasis on Pickleball. With the continued rapid growth and popularity of pickleball at Belfair, we are looking for an energetic, engaging, and service-oriented professional who will create meaningful experiences and relationships with our members through instruction, events, leagues, and dynamic programming.

This is a wonderful opportunity to work in a beautiful Lowcountry setting alongside a dedicated and passionate team.

Essential Duties

  • Lead and oversee all daily pickleball operations and programming, including clinics, leagues, round robins, mixers, tournaments, socials, and special events.
  • Serve as the primary Pickleball Professional for the Club while supporting the overall Court Sports operation.
  • Support tennis programming, events, and member engagement activities as needed in coordination with the Director of Court Sports.
  • Provide private and group pickleball instruction for all skill levels, from beginner through advanced players.
  • Assist with tennis instruction, clinics, and racquet sports programming when appropriate.
  • Develop and implement adult and junior pickleball programs, while supporting tennis initiatives.
  • Supervise all court sports play, including proper collection of fees and rental of equipment.
  • Enforce all club rules and regulations governing the use of courts, equipment, and facilities.
  • Represent the Club in state, regional, or national racquet sports events when time allows.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to create and promote combined member programs and club events.
  • Inspect courts and facilities daily to ensure proper maintenance, safety, and playability; report maintenance needs to the Director of Court Sports.
  • Monitor court usage, including lessons, clinics, league play, and special events, to ensure effective scheduling and member access.
  • Assist in hiring, training, and supervising court sports teaching professionals and support staff.
  • Provide orientation, ongoing training, and performance feedback for court sports staff.
  • Manage staffing, productivity, and departmental expenses based on business volume and seasonal demand.
  • Ensure the highest level of member and guest satisfaction through exceptional service delivery and hospitality.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Establish and grow programming and participation.
  • Coordinate with local clubs and communities to promote participation and off-peak play opportunities.
  • Assist with merchandising, paddle and racquet demos, and promotion of the Court Sports Pro Shop when needed.

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) and four to six years of related experience as a Court Sports Professional, Pickleball Director, Head Pickleball Professional, Tennis Professional, or Instructor, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates and Licenses

  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • RSPA, PPR, IPTPA Certification required or willingness to obtain
  • RSPA or PTR Tennis Certification required or willingness to obtain
  • DUPR rating of 4.5 or higher preferred

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation includes a competitive base salary starting at $60,000 annually, along with substantial lesson and program revenue participation, creating a total earning potential in excess of $100,000.

Belfair is ideally located in Bluffton, near Hilton Head Island, Beaufort, and Savannah. We offer a comprehensive benefits package through Troon, available to full-time associates beginning the 1st of the month following the date of hire.
