Responsible for performing the technical functions of endoscopic nursing practice under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.

More than 150,000 patients are treated each year at St. Joseph's Wayne Medical Center. Leading edge clinical services include orthopedics, spine, and sports medicine; cardiology/cardiothoracic services including a diagnostic cardiac catheterization laboratory performing peripheral angiograms and stenting, carotid stenting and pacemaker implants; non-invasive cardiology services including Holter monitoring, 24-hour blood pressure monitoring, echocardiography and trans-esophageal echocardiography; the Acute Rehabilitation Unit providing a full range of inpatient and outpatient services such as those of the North Jersey Swallowing Center; the John Victor Machuga Diabetes Education Center, offering comprehensive education and consultation programs; and expanded Ambulatory Care Center; as well as liver, biliary, and pancreatic consultation services.

Work requires a High School diploma or equivalent and less than two years of basic technical or occupationally-specific training as an endo technician and no previous experience plus three to six months of on-the-job training and education. Work requires the ability to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles. Work requires the ability to exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, record vital signs in patients' charts, greet visitors, explain Hospital policies, and/or relay patients' needs to appropriate personnel.
