Job description

Registered Nurse (RN) Surgical Inpatient Full Time Days

Work location: Texas Health Frisco, 12400 N Dallas Parkway Frisco, TX 75033
Work hours: Full Time Days (7a-7p) Weekend and holiday requirements
Department highlights:
    16-bed Surgical unit - fast paced, quick turnover
   Experience with tele, surgical preferred - primary surgical unit and take med/surg overflow
1:4 patient ratio, at times 1:5

Here's What You Need
   Nursing Diploma
   Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program
  BSN preferred
  One-year experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
  One year of Emergency experience strongly preferred

  1-2 years charge experience in Medical Surgical preferred
  RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care
   BCLS - upon hire - expiration date greater than 3 months preferred
   ACLS - upon hire required
   CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training - within 60 days of hire
What You Will Do
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
   Assesses the patient
   Plans the care of the patient
   Intervenes as appropriate
   Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
   Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
   Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
   Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
