Manager – Port Authority Terminal
Location: New York, NY (Port Authority Bus Terminal)

Martz Bus is seeking a Manager – Port Authority Terminal to lead daily operations within the New York Port Authority Bus Terminal. This position is responsible for overseeing terminal activity, supervising staff, and ensuring safe, efficient, and customer-focused service in one of the busiest transportation environments in the region.

This is a hands-on operational leadership role requiring real-time decision-making, strong communication, and the ability to manage both people and service performance in a fast-paced, high-visibility setting.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time, primarily Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
  • Flexibility is required based on operational needs
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays is expected, particularly during peak travel periods such as holidays

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily terminal operations, including bus arrivals, departures, and platform activity
  • Supervise terminal staff to ensure consistent execution, safety, and accountability
  • Monitor passenger flow and service performance, addressing issues in real time
  • Maintain on-time departures and minimize operational disruptions within the terminal
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer concerns and escalations
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with Human Resources on employee relations, coaching, and discipline
  • Act as the on-site liaison with Port Authority personnel and internal operations teams

Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) years of leadership experience in transportation, logistics, or a comparable operational environment
  • Proven ability to lead teams and make decisions in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience resolving customer issues and operational challenges in real time
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule in a 24-hour operations environment, including weekends and holidays
